The following regulations must be met in order to gain entry to a 2020 Hibbing Football Game. We appreciate you following these guidelines so that we can continue to play and stay healthy!
1. ALL spectators, regardless of age, MUST have a ticket. NO EXCEPTIONS!
2. There will be no extra tickets available at the door. Hibbing Activities is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
3. No concessions will be available.
4. No passes will be accepted - ticket sales will be through the football team.
5. All fans will wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times.
6. Parking lots will open at 6:15pm. Gates will open at 6:30pm.
7. There will be no tailgating allowed at Cheever Field or in any surrounding area.
8. The game will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel. The link will be sent out prior to game day.
9. The visitor's entrance will be to the left of the main ticket booth. It will be labled. Visitors will sit on the north bleachers.
10. The home entrance will be to the right of the main ticket booth. It will be labled. Home fans will sit in the center bleachers.
11. Our band will be in the south bleachers and use a separate entrace as well as a designated port-a-potty.
12. Restrooms for home and away fans are located under the center bleachers.
13. No fans will be allowed on the field.
14. Hibbing High School reserves the right to remove any specators who do not comply with the guidelines.
On Monday, September 21, 2020, the MSHSL reversed their decision to allow volleyball and football to happen this fall. Online registration is open for grades 9-12 right now. We are working on a jr high schedule and season, so once that's finalized, we will open that registration.
Volleyball will start on Monday, September 28. Everyone must be registered, have an updated physical on file, and pay before participating. The season will consist of 14 games and 11 weeks of play including playoffs. We are allowed to play two matches per week and no tournaments will be allowed.
Football will start on Monday, September 28. Everyone must be registered, have an updated physical on file, and pay before participating. The season will consist of 6 games and run for 9 weeks including playoffs.
The seasons will look very different . Following MDH guidelines, NO spectators will be allowed at volleyball. 250 spectators will be allowed at football games. Masks must be worn when attending football games, and we will be offering live streaming to both varsity sports.

There will be a fall sports information meeting via Zoom on Friday, August 14 at noon. Please register in advance for this meeting:
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
This meeting will also be recorded and embedded into our webpage afterwards. It is required before any student-athlete begins practice on August 17.
Fall sports start August 17. Everyone is required to wear a mask when not exerting themselves during practice, and please bring your own water bottle. Sharing of any equipment, water bottles, food, etc will not be allowed. All student-athletes will be asked to fill out the Covid-19 Symptom Survey before each practice along with receiving a temperature check before being allowed to practice. Parents are not allowed to congregate to watch practices, and please know this information will be updated as soon as we know more.

Girls' Soccer - Tryouts will be held Aug 17-19 from 8:00-10:00 AM at Cheever Field and 4:00-6:00 PM at Vic Power Field 4. Regular practice times will then be from 4:00-6:00 PM after August 19. Morning practices will be conditioning and afternoon practices will be skills. Please bring a mask/gaiter, cleats, tennis shoes, and a water bottle for conditions, and a mask/gaitor, cleats, shin guards, socks, a water bottle, and your own ball for the skills practice.
Tennis - 9:00-Noon at the Lincoln Tennis Courts (Monday-Friday) Please bring a mask/gaitor, tennis shoes, a racket, and a water bottle. Practices will be canceled if it is raining
Girls' Swim & Dive - Varsity swimmers only from 8-10 on Monday, August 17. Meet in the fenced-in area. If it's raining, meet in the HHS gym. Jr high and divers only from 10-11 on Monday, August 17. Meet in the fenced-in area. If it's raining, meeting in the HHS gym. This will be the time schedule for the entire week. Please bring a mask and swim suit, and wear gym shoes.
Boys' Soccer - 8:00 - 9:30 at the Lincoln Fields and 3:30-5:30 at Vic Power Park field 2. Players must arrive in practice clothes and bring soccer cleats, shin guards, plenty of water, and a face mask or neck gaiter.
Cross Country - Practice begins at 3:30 at the High School. Bring your own water, a mask or neck gaiter, and be dressed ready to run.

In accordance with governmental directives, the MSHSL will offer certain activities subject to compliance with local, states nd federal laws, regulations, and guidelines. Please read the MSHSL COVID-19 Notice in the PDF below to read more about your participation in MSHSL sponsored events this fall.
Per the MSHSL - XC, Swimming & Diving, Boys' and Girls' Soccer, and Girls' Tennis will be able to participate this fall starting on August 17, 2020. The schedules will be modified, and the season will look different. More information on that will be coming in the next few days. We will open registration for those sports starting on Monday, August 10 and will be ONLINE ONLY. If you need to make arrangements to come into the office to register, please call the AD office at 218-208-0851.
Volleyball and Football have been postponed until March 2021. Athletes participating in those sports as well as spring 2020 sports will be allowed to work with their coaches via a fall waiver. More information to follow.
The MSHSL and ISD 701 have implemented return to play protocol for COVID-19 during the summer waiver period. Please see the attachment below for more information.
Effective immediately, the MSHSL has canceled the remainder of the spring sports season. Please see the official memo below.
We will be issuing refunds to all of those who paid for spring registration. Please be patient as we go through this process.
To our 2020 seniors, we are just as disappointed as you are. Sports are a chance to bring people together, and we know this leaves a huge void in everyone's hearts. While it seems unimaginable now, know you will get through these dark times to rise above and reach your dreams. We are all Bluejacket Strong.
Effective immediately and continuing until the Governor of Minnesota has lifted his school closure declaration:
All participation in any MSHSL spring activities at all member schools is suspended. Participation includes, but is not limited to, competitions, training, practices, scrimmages, and contests.
NO decision on the cancellation of spring activities has been made at this time.

Starting today, March 16, 2020, all high school sports and activities have been postponed per Hibbing High School and MSHSL policy. This includes any practices, meetings, or rehearsals and will be in effect through Friday, March 27. Please see the attached MSHSL memo.
If the spring season is canceled, we will be issuing refunds.

For any student-athletes and parents who did not attend the fall sports meeting, you must attend the winter/spring rules meeting on Thursday, November 7th at 6:30 PM in the HS auditorium.

There will be a mandatory fall sports meeting for all student-athletes and activities kids planning on joining a fall sport on Wednesday, August 14th at 6:00 PM in the HS auditorium. Parents and students must attend in order to be eligible for any fall sports or activities.
There will be another meeting in November for all of the winter sports/activities. You will only need to attend one meeting.
Please contact Ms. Potter in the AD's office if you can't attend the fall meeting, and you plan on playing a fall sport.

For anyone interested in the Bluejacket Power lifting camp this summer, please see the attached form. Forms need to be filled out and returned to Coach Casey before the end of the school year.
The weight room will be open from 6:45-11:00 am Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. This camp is free of charge.
The 12th annual Hibbing High School Golf Scramble will take place on Monday, June 10th with a shotgun start at noon. A dinner with raffles and drawings will follow. All proceeds go towards helping activities and sports at HHS including scholarships and equipment for at need kids, band equipment, yearbooks, caps and gowns, help with the All Night Grad Party and prom tickets, and weight room maintenance. Please sign up to golf, sponsor a hole, be a corporate sponsor, or make a donation. The registration form is below.
A fan bus is being offered for the game on Wednesday. Students must sign up by 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 12. The cost is $20 for the bus and $10 for the game ticket. The bus will leave the Memorial Building parking lot at 5:30 am.
A bus is also going to the game on Thursday if the girls win. It will leave the MB parking lot at 8:00 am. The cost is $30 as the bus will then go to the boys' basketball 7AAA final game in at Duluth East. If the girls are in the consolation bracket, the bus will only go to Duluth East. It will leave the MB parking lot at 5:00 PM, and the cost will be $10. Tickets for the boys' final are $6.00.

Congratulations to our girls' basketball team on winning the 7AAA championship! They now face DeLaSalle on Wednesday, March 13 at 10:00 am at the Maturi Pavilion on the UMN campus.
The third annual Teddy Bear Toss will be Friday, December 7 during the first intermission of the boys' hockey game.
Teddy Bears collected will be donated to local youth and youth-driven programs. We ask that all bears are new.
